Proud Voices On Screen at Auckland Pride Festival 2024

Join us for our third annual Proud Voices On Screen event - a day of short films, panel discussions and mingling, for queer, lgtbqia+, takatāpui & rainbow identifying creators of film and series. Come along and celebrate queer voices in the Aotearoa screen industry. All levels of filmmaking experience are welcome, including those just dipping their toes in.

2pm (75mins) - Panel Discussion: Making Inky Pinky Ponky and The Boy, The Queen And Everything In Between

The creators and lead actors of two series Inky Pinky Ponky (Coconet, Whakaata Māori) and The Boy, The Queen And Everything In Between (TVNZ+) talk about their process developing and making the shows.

Intimacy Coordinator Todd Emerson talks to Max Currie about what it means to bring lived, queer experience to the role when it comes to queer stories, themes, characters and actors.

5pm (60mins) - Celebrate! Stick around for some refreshments and networking with queer creatives in the Aotearoa screen industry. Those who weren’t able to join for the films and talks are still welcome to join from 5-6pm to meet others in the industry!
